What's in your hands is the juicy dried peel of this tangy lil fruit that's been repeatedly dipped in its own juice and then dried (7-8 times!) until all the flavor of the fruit is packed into the peel and preserved long beyond when fresh kokum has gone out of season. It's sour, sweet, a little salty, and fun to just snack on plain!
