Grown in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, by Mr. Prabhu Kasaraneni, a 4th generation farmer - Pragati is an heirloom strain of turmeric, that has a 4.7% curcumin content. It is bright, floral, and ridiculously potent, with none of the metallic, bitter or powder tastes of conventional, stale turmeric.
Pragati turmeric seeds are licensed and branded by the Indian Institute of Spice Research, a non-profit agricultural research facility that works with farmers across the country to promote sustainable and profitable spice production.
This harvest was the Kasaraneni family’s first certified organically farmed harvest, they are officially in year 2 in the 3-year process towards USDA Certified Organic status - a very big deal!
This batch was milled in November 2018, and is at its potent best until November 2020!
PS - The 2019 Harvest launches in August!
