Every year, we commission a holiday card from a South Asian artist that we love. This year, it's from the amazing Mathesari Janarthanan!
All proceeds from the card goes towards our farm healthcare program that makes sure all the laborers on our partner farms have access to healthcare!
Here's her artist statement about the process and context behind the card:
I am an Illustrator & Designer based in San Diego, CA.
I am originally from Chennai, India where I completed by Bachelors in Visual Communication.
I remember even when I was a kid I loved drawing rather than playing or doing other things.
Art is something that inspires me, makes me happy & brings me a lot of joy. I am always interested in the mystical & the magical part of life and I draw inspirations from people, nature and the universe.
I am a Dreamer and my works portray that with a mix of magic & wonder. Hope you enjoy my work!
